Everything Aldo Reborn does to turn your photos into a printed photo fanzine.

Colour, page order, bleed, format. The fiddly parts of bookmaking. Aldo does them so you can think about your photos.

The fiddly parts of making a photo fanzine

Making a photo fanzine at home sounds simple. Pick your best frames, print, fold, staple. The trouble is everything between “print” and “a booklet that reads in order”. There’s the page imposition. There’s the RGB→CMYK colour shift. There’s the bleed your printer can’t reach. There’s the right format and binding. Each one is a small wall. Together they quietly kill most first photo books.

Aldo Reborn takes those walls down. You drop in your photos. You organise them in a library, pick a page count, and see the finished object in 3D before a single sheet prints. No InDesign. No print shop. Just your photos, your printer, and a real little book at the end.

How a zine gets made, start to finish

1. Drop your photos in Drag your photos onto the app. JPEG, PNG, HEIC, RAW, TIFF, WebP and AVIF all go in. The library reads the camera, lens and date from each file and never touches your originals.
2. Lay out the pages Pick a format and a page count, then drop photos into the templates. Covers, full pages, double pages and text all sit on one shared grid.
3. Check it in 3D Flip through the finished book before any paper is used. The 3D preview is rendered from the exact PDF you are about to export.
4. Export the PDF You get a print-ready PDF/X-3. The pages are imposed in printing order, the colour is converted to CMYK, and 3 mm of bleed lands on the cut edges.
5. Print, fold, staple Print it double-sided on an ordinary inkjet or laser. Fold the stack in half, staple the fold, trim the edges. That is a zine, made at your desk.
